It is my pleasure to introduce the first ever "Theme Week" on my blog. As I promised, I will spend the whole week posting nothing but stumbles related to a certain topic and articles on that topic. The topic is *Drum roll please*--- Sinkholes. Sounds boring, doesn't it? Probably. So that's why I am going to do my best to write and stumble in an exciting manner. Now I bet your head is already full of questions (most likely not.) What the heck is a sinkhole anyway?

Well, in the words of wikipedia, A sinkhole, also known as a sink, shake hole, swallow hole, swallet, doline or cenote, is a natural depression or hole in the surface topography caused by the removal of soil or bedrock, often both, by water. Sinkholes may vary in size from less than a meter to several hundred meters both in diameter and depth, and vary in form from soil-lined bowls to bedrock-edged chasms. They may be formed gradually or suddenly, and are found worldwide.

That was pretty explanatory (not.) So now we know what a sinkhole is, but specifical, how are they formed? Well wikipedia has an answer for that, too:
Mechanisms of formation may include the gradual removal of slightly soluble bedrock (such as limestone) by percolating water, the collapse of a cave roof, or a lowering of the water table. Occasionally a sinkhole may exhibit a visible opening into a cave below. In the case of exceptionally large sinkholes, such as Cedar Sink at Mammoth Cave National Park, USA, a stream or river may be visible across its bottom flowing from one side to the other.

What's up guys. Just wanted to let you all know that I am starting "theme week" on my blog. Every couple of weeks(whenever I feel like it ;]~) I will post nothing but pages related to a certain topic(eg. the iPhone, Mayan Civilization, Fantasy Art.)I will also include lots of photos and mini-articles on the subject. I am going to kick off the first theme week this Sunday, so keep your eyes peeled.

Hi guys. Just wanted to let anyone who cares about my blog know that I won't be reviewing anything for a couple of weeks. *pauses* I just realized that I like exactly 2,000 pages. What a convenient time to take a break. I'll do that 1,000 stumble marathon after my little hiatus. I am going to continue to stumble, just not review the pages. It just seems that it's become to much work trying to post every other page I stumble to my blog. Hope you understand. -jesse

Hi, I'm Jesse. I want to do a 1,000 stumble stumbleupon marathon, and I'm just wandering how many would support me if I did. I don't want to spend 10 hours straight stumbling without anyone even knowing about it. I am going to try to stumble and review 1,000 sites on stumbleupon in under 12 hours. For each website I stumble i will review it with it's stumble number and a link to this post, so you all can see how well I am doing on my blog. Every half an hour or so I'll post on my blog telling about things like how tired I am, my favorite stumbles, etc. If you think that it's a cool idea just hit "I like it" and review this page. If I feel enough people want me to do this, I'll set up a time and date. ;)
