Just got back from camping in Yosemite on August 26th. Had an exhilarating experience Saturday night... While sitting by the camp fire by myself around 10 p.m I heard a rustle in the trees. Thinking it was someone at the neighboring campsite, I casually looked over and saw a huge form walking through the trees about 15 feet away from me. I fumbled for my flashlight and shined it right on a big black bear.

It looked right at me and I jumped out of my seat and yelled 'BEAR!' It then started to head in the direction of our tent, where my girlfriend was sleeping. Not really thinking, I started chasing it. It went right past the tent and climbed a fallen tree and disappeared into the woods.

My adrenaline was pumping so hard I couldn't sleep for hours afterwards. Pretty exciting stuff :) Wish I would have had my camera...
