Exactly why you'd never catch me living in a "restricted" community. They would really hate me. Basically I mow, I weed whack, and the rest is left up to nature. I refuse to use any sort of artificial pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers on my yard. I do have weeds, but when you mow them down, heck, they look just like grass. I refuse to waste resources or money on watering. When it rains a lot my yard is lush and green, and when it doesn't rain for awhile it goes a bit brown. So what? It's just fucking GRASS, people, god where the hell are our priorities? I save my tender loving care for my garden and trees and shrubs because they actually have a function besides lying there looking green.

My heart goes out to this man and his family. To be jailed for something like this is just beyond all comprehension and common decency. Not only did he go to jail, but he has to stay there without bail until the yard is resodded, which the family has already proven they cannot afford. With the money the association spent on lawyer fees and "expert witnesses" they could have just chipped in and helped the guy out. Here is the contact info for the board members, their lawyer and the judge. Do with it what you will.

Disagree with my lawn care policies? You should watch this. It comes on periodically on the Sundance channel.

"Roses" made from maple leaves. I'm really not that crafty, to be honest, but these are pretty cool. If you have access to a maple tree, besides the floral twine this is basically a free project. The site is not in English, but the photos say it all.

This is an excellent site to check out if you love to bake. They have all sorts of gadgets and ingredients and I especially appreciate their wide range of organic products that are cheaper than what I'm currently paying at my local grocery. They also have recipes, baking tips, message boards, a blog, free cooking classes both online and off.. all around a great resource.

Don't tell kristenlcolby that you are addicted to her 80's posts unless you want her to ask you where your pic is. So yes, that's me up there. Wasn't I cute. I haven't changed a bit, either. I mean I really haven't. Same hair, same cheeks, same dimple.. Basically the only difference is I got taller (barely) and grew boobs (woohoo).
