Continued- John Taylor Gatto

There is [in this respect] hardly a difference in any school in the country – the rotten ones are the same as the good ones – you get an ‘A+’ for memorizing what you are told to memorize, and repeating it on periodic tests.

And after you do that for a long enough period of time, you are so alienated from your own roots of strength, from your own family, from your own religion, from your own culture, from your own imagination . . . that you don’t recover from that, you become predictable by the tools of market research, and both the government and the corporate world use those predictions to employ capital and labor efficiently.

Winston Churchill said in 1944, publicly, that schools don’t have anything to do with education, they are – I’m reading the quote – ‘they are mainly institutions of control, where certain basic habits are inculcated in the young. Education is quite different, and has no place in schools.’

And here is Bertrand Russell, you know, one of the major mathematicians and philosophers of the 20th century, he says this in 1935: ‘we are faced with the paradoxical fact that school is one of the chief obstacles to intelligence and freedom of thought.’ So what we’re talking about [the role of school in negative social engineering] is a deliberate piece of architecture.

So, once again, I think it is important to see where these people gained their strength, their moral strength, in accepting Darwin’s hypothesis. Not about evolution, but that: ‘most people aren’t evolving, they’re deadwood; so if you allow them to mix with the good breeding stock, you’ve ruined the human race.’

Now, obviously, that’s not taught in school when they teach Darwin, yet it is very, very easy to find!

I challenge anyone simply to go to their local public library, and ask their librarian for: Darwin's Descent of Man. That’s the name of the book, not Origin of Species but a book written twelve years later, and it will be in every library in the United States, I guarantee you, and it will say, flatly, the future of the human race depends on confusing this bad breeding stock so that . . . it doesn’t reproduce itself . . .

.

Needed: Local Heros
You should look around your community and look to see if you still have an independent local (not "alternative") paper. If so, support it financially.

Recently I had the priviledge of sitting with one of those people who should be recognized as an everyday local hero: a person who is willing commit their working life toward something they believe in. How many of us have done this?

This individual, with his wife as partner, courageously launched an independent local paper (local reporting - not "alternative), which in six months has transformed our local political landscape. They basically built a balanced local paper from scratch and they paid to have delivered into everyone's mailbox. We have some elections coming up soon which will absolutely will have a more informed outcome due to this paper.

But this got me to-a-thinkin' . . . I wish I had my own paper. Because I would also get local people to question national issues, too. Which we attempt to do here on the 'net. Ineffectually. Because we AREN'T organized locally.

But . . . I didn't take the risks this couple did, so I would never tell them what to print, make any complaint about the gift they have given my community. They have syndicated columnists for national commentary, for reasons not explained to me.

Maybe they think to google whoever links to their website, but I doubt they have the time. But possibly they will stumble over this one day, so here is what I wish they could cover; questions syndicated columnists NEVER ask:

Editorial Sketches:

Like: why does the GOP seem to want a gun-grabbing, cross-dressing, fetus-killing gangster; or the Dems a warmongering former first lady? This race to the middle departs from the style of both Parties, to the benefit of one. Just count the electoral swing states and it seems undeniable: whoever steers the party of Lincoln, of Reagan is taking a fall, throwing the game. Present course, their only route to retaining power is to declare martial law.

Like: Hey, drop the political labels. Right or Left, don't most of us just want a strong defense, not a crumbling empire? Don't we want private property defended, not centralized by government or globalists?

Like: Don't we believe in the power of our Founders' ideas? Believe in the rule of law, defined by the Constitution and Bill of Rights? Or did all this change recently, because somebody learned how to blow up tall buildings? Do we scare that easily?

Like: Aren't we really running away from the sounds of the battle if we don't question policies based on lies? At least before sending our kids kill others? When have traditional conservatives believed in pre-emptive war? Who sold us that?
