This is an account of the events and repercussions of my teenage son's first experience getting drunk. The names have been changed to protect the guilty teenage drinkers. Many of the parts written below will sound familiar since we have all been there, done that.

This is my article relating to the fundraising efforts and exploits (and hopefully success) of my son's travel hockey team. After reading some of the ideas, and my responses, brainstorming may not be the right description for the meeting.

I just made it through another holiday visit by my mother-in-law (MIL). Though there are many things she does that get me upset (read: piss me off), her lack of class when it comes to eating tops the list.

Cars are bigger, parking spaces are smaller, cars are closer together, which just means we should be more attentive when pulling in and out of parking spaces and opening and closing car doors. But it's simply amazing how many people just don't give a damn when they hit your car in a parking lot.

You have to understand that I am over 40, balding, and have a "crown" with a fair amount of hair on top. The hair is not long, but short. My days of long hair, ears covered, over the collar, blowing in the breeze when I run, are long over. When I feel my hair moving in the wind, it is time for a cut. I just wanted shampoo.

Fundraising for youth sports team gets harder and harder as the kids get older. Trying to come up with something innovative, different, new, exciting, just doesn't happen. The kids are not interested, the parents are even less interested, and everyone you know is "fundraised out".
