Jackie definitely had good numbers, but his real legacy is the poise and grace he displayed. The fact that he asked baseball writers to only focus on his baseball stats is another testament to his humility.

Many years ago I managed many servers with absolutely no package system. Every time new software was needed, the latest version was downloaded and compiled. Now, I use Yum on my RHEL servers and Mac Ports on my OS X workstations.
