In January of 2007, a photo album was donated to the US Holocaust Museum. Unlike so many of the existing published photos, these are of Nazis. Playing with dogs, singing in a field, they, in these pictures, remind us that they were otherwise ordinary human beings ... this is what people can do to each other in the name of power and supremacy.

Travelers, for a small fee, will have to purchase a travel-insurance policy, for access to information. (Each country report runs about $10 USD.) Medex Global Group, partnering with Harvard Medical International, will offer advice for travelers regarding health risks and recommended immunizations, as well as, in some cases, hospitals.

According to The Clark Howard Show, under the Fair Debt Collection Act, not only does the debt collector have to cease and desist but, if he doesn't, you can sue in small claims. While one should pay one's debts, the sending of a letter such as this would make the phone and mail seem friendlier! (Link via consumerist.com.)

Dealing with collection agencies is scary - especially for those in temporary straits. This clear article is written to help those who are willing to work to get debts paid, and who are being harassed by collectors. Knowing one's rights makes a big difference in regaining empowerment and paying down that debt!

The U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science ,& Transportation has formed a committee that will explore efforts to protect children from online predators. Links to the online archived webcast of their Tuesday, July 24, 2007 meeting. If this committee can follow through, it will do some of the most important work ever to be done in the USA.

Dog owners will appreciate that animal blog Itchmo has organized a checklist of what to pack in the car for your dog. Remembering the food bowl may be automatic, but what about your dog's vaccination tag and paperwork? LOTS of bags may have been saved in advance, but did you remember to pack the vet's phone number? VALUABLE: share with friends!

David Vetter was born with Severe Combined Immune Deficiency Syndrome - think of an immune system that worse than an AIDS patient's. He was portrayed, loosely, in a TV movie as pretty happy. Mary Murphy was a psychologist who knew him, and who says that his world wasn't as happy as was protrayed. WILL her book be published? Read a synopsis.

AISH ("the Jewish Website") published this article. Religion and Potter don't mix well. In THIS article, the author and her family are "fighting" over who gets the book next, while wondering about the Potter phenomenon. Because "Just like Harry, we succeed one day and are beaten back the next," the author sees the Harry Potter series as... Jewish!

Star Trek without Spock is like science fiction without imagination: one without the other is illogical. Leonard Nimoy, telling fans at Comic-con, "This is really going to be a great movie. And I don't say things like that lightly," will play the brilliant Mr. Spock in the December 08 film. Kirk hasn't been cast, but Spock continues to ... Prosper.
