This past month, I’ve been sending out proposals to a few blogs I thought would benefit from a nice looking redesign–on the house. I’ve been reading their blogs for quite some time, trying to get a feel for what their style is, what their trying to achieve, and why they might need a redesign. I offered them a few suggestions as to what changes or enhancements I thought would benefit them based on the observations I’ve made. I also told them that ultimately, they’re going to be making the decisions as if this were a paying gig.

The results?
I’m now working with two established bloggers in an attempt to redesign their wordpress blog. Who they are is something you’ll find out soon enough. A lot of things aren’t finalized yet so all I can tell you is that one’s a multi-authored blog, blogging about blogging and the other is a young blogger who blogs about apple, technology, cameras and writes tutorials and reviews. The guessing game begins!

Why I’m doing is?
Well, it’s a new year; my portfolio is severely out of date, and I’d like to try something different for a change. To tell you the truth, I’ve been making websites for myself the past few years and I’m tired of being my own client (for the most part). In an attempt to show off what I’ve learned over the past few years, I thought this would be a great opportunity for the both of us. It’ll be a great way to get my work out there, showing the quality I provide through my services as a web designer and developer.
What’s the catch?

They’re getting a brand spankin’ new blog to further build up their blog’s brand, uniqueness, and authority. No seriously, all that I require is that you’re blogging on wordpress and that you already have some establishment set for your blog. I’m currently not considering “new blogs” as of yet, that’ll be another time.

Now it’s your turn!
The blogosphere is way too big for me to be going around looking for potential candidates, reviewing them and all that jazz. So if you feel that you need a refresh for your blog, shoot me an email at freebies at ptahdunbar.com with the subject line “Free WordPress Design” and fill me in with all the details of what you want, how you want it, and everything else you think I should know. I’ll reply back telling you whether I’ll consider your blog or not. There isn’t a time limit for this offer, so you’ve got plenty of time.

So what’s next?
Since I’m going to get a lot of creative freedom with these projects, I plan on writing case studies for each one of them I take on throughout this campaign. Somewhat similar to the series I did with the design of this blog, only better. The first will be on the multi-authored blog I mentioned earlier which should be going live this weekend.
