I had no idea of all the planning decisions and tasks that had to be properly sequenced when it comes to a home renovation.
Some of obvious, but others are interesting. I like this site because it is not a professional, it is a real family who shows what they did wrong (learning from someone else's mistakes, I like it so it's not me making the mistake!), and from what they seem to have done right. And, it's not written in the typical mumbo jumbo.

I like this because they have personal experience type articles about painting different parts of the home from French Doors, to fireplaces, and so on. They even include experiences on unique painting tips.

Kitchen

I really liked the posting about removing bulkheads to give more room in the kitchen. The changes look fabulous and they have lots more postings and pictures to add in the coming weeks and months. I also like how they have slide shows showing before and after pictures of there renovation. The slide show changes about every week or two.

Family Room

Wow, what a difference. This family completely changed the look of their family room without breaking down walls, yet with major changes like lighting, painting part and drywalling part of the ugly fireplace, installing recessed lights. Very, very nice job.....and, they cover other areas of the home as well throughout the site.

Energy Conservation

This is great, yes great site. This area has incredibly detailed reviews of the energy audit report they received including pictures of the actual report, what recommendations they received, what they are doing about it and even government grant money available. January is their month to focus on energy audits and energy conservation so they keep posting new articles on how we can all help to reduce our energy consumption. It should be everyone's favorite.....well, except for the companies who make money selling energy and high energy consuming products!

Wow! Some of the tips here are amazing. I didn't know you can go back to the retailer and delay the start date of deferred payment plans if they don't deliver the goods on time. I never would have thought to do that. Lot's of great tips and information on this topic here.

What I like about this one is that it covers not just major accessibilty in a home for a physically challenged person but also the little things that can make such a difference. It also has lots of pictures to explain stuff. I like sites that are by real people just like this one as I can relate to them better.

What I like about this one is that it has lots and lots of pictures to show what the person is talking about. I can get bored just reading posts and blogs, but one with pictures let's me see what the blogger is talking about, especially about home renovation which can be confusing. Really like this one.
