This was astonishing!

On a different note, has anyone heard about the Deep Storage Project? Supposedly, a sculpture containing human DNA from all over the world is going to be sunk into the Mariana Trench 11 KM under the sea, for the prospect of eternal life in the future... All in the name of art! I believe the artist's name is Christian von Hornsleth... The website is very enigmatic (so far): http://www.deepstorageproject.com

Universal Health Care Message to Americans From Canadian Doctors &Health Care Experts

I'm amazed by the American people... Oh jebus, the ignorance!

Why can't you see that the republicans are only out to serve the über-rich, by coercing the under-classes with cliché rhetorics that speak to their fears and general emotions instead of their reason.
For instance, higher income taxes would mostly inflict financial harm to the CEOs and MNCs, and general profits, as these capitalist exploiters would be forced to raise wages accordingly so their employees could maintain their quality of life. So the working class really has nothing to fear, only the wealthy.
Sadly, I fear, the repetition of the right's "mistrust" of the government (expecially via cable news) will probably have convinced (sic., brainwahed) the American working class into thinking that the government are the baddies, even though their only purpose is to serve every American's interest. This means that the big corporations might actually be able, in such a case, to still exploit their workers without raising wages, and blame the government for their diminished quality of life - even though most of them (most of the time) have the money to compensate contra profits. (the reccession, created by neocon/libertarian border-line illegal free-trade policies, is another rant I'm afraid)

This is exactly what the case is in the Scandinavian countries, where they have both some of the highest taxes in the world, but also the highest wages, which results in the fact that they are, per capita, the richest people in the world.

And why do you think that the republicans are so hell-bent on preventing universal health-care? Because they are protecting the private industry that finance their campaigns. In other words, because they are corrupt. The truth is that the current healthcare system is raping the US economy dry.

I've also noticed that you can divide the two political views into two kinds of people: Those who are aversive or afraid of risk and change (R) and whose who are optimistic towards risk and change (D). Thus, I believe, you can say that republicans are regressive, or at least restrictive when it comes to development in most respects, simply because they're more prone to think that development is mostly negative, whereas democrats enjoy the prospects of things changing for the better.

Simply put, if more people would just lighten up in the USA, there would be more democrats, and thus people would generally be healthier. :)

Extremism is bad unless it's extremely correct, logical, scientifically sound etc.

I wish people would start relying more on the academic word of modern scientists and philosophers, in stead of blatantly relying on the guesses of bronze-age mystics (who wrote the bible).

When people equate these three types, they forget the regressive force of religion, and how much damage it's done to humanity through out history...
