of Elizabeth West born in
1832 expired 1878
age of 46...
There's no written history
who she might have been
stones sits silently still
beneath she lies within
Someone carved a stone for her A son or family
she waked to morning sun just like you and me
A pioneering spirit an angel in the night
Hard working woman settled on this site
many days have wasted many wars gone by
If you listen closely you can hear her sighs
closer still and her words come softly
as if to say please listen hear me talking

"mourn days that I was
afraid alone in cabin deep
smoke from yonder mountain
never gettin' any sleep"

raised our kids best we could
protected from the raids
sent them off to city school
Dr. West the oldest became
He with a buggy and black
bag went from house to house
helping everywhere he could
If you look right next to me
in the nested marked grave
you will find his name in stone
"Loving Son "above is laid

Beyond the curb of concrete stones
scattered rubble there
look to find a crumbled stone
my husband's name it wears
seems like all us are buried here
,upon this silent rocky hill
Red birds in trees so near
sing their song so shrill
Seasons come and go ,
I've laid here all these years
Life was hard but you must know
it was always worth my tears"

With that last whisper of a phrase
nothing was left to do
a gasp heart quickened in it's pace
now tell the story to you
When you visit with the dead
which often may you hear
voice of ghost what they said
listen without fear
Far away from cities on a hill
middle of the Texas plains
there is a place that time forgot
carved rocks that carry names

What does she wear

What does she wear
a heart of sorrow
that shows through
outlined in white

dressed in finest
sadness wrinkled
by the night
of left hand turns

draped in the undone
under-wire that once held
up the vanities
of yesterday

adorned by the jeweled
rancor core of hate
united and sparkling
like tiny flying embers

the shear stockings
worn over her fallen arches
of pain that went behind
the best years wasted

scarfed and shredded
like the life not
lived to the fullest intent
deterred by her emotions

size 12 that never fits
size 4 because of the
three divided into never
always equals infinity

what does she wear
nothing , there's nothing
no woman to dress
just a frail memory

My Heart Lives Alone

My heart lives alone now that you are gone.
There's not an even steady beat .
Your hand is far from mine
Time is measured in minutes of hours
I'm lonely and afraid without you
You were my teddy bear , my flash light in the dark.
When I needed you, you were there with a hug and a kiss.
What did I do to lose you, why did you leave ?
Where have you gone ?.
Do the people that love you now love you more than me?
I am not so sad for the relationship
I am sorry that we could not reach across the abyss
that deepness that was our used -to- be passion,
I have reached a conclusion;
We are the same un- kindest beast to our hearts',
To leave it bleeding and raw
Humans have that evil side.
I am begging please,
try to be kind once more ,
take this lonely heart from me .
A letter ,a call where ever you
are I'll come to you
. Our old times are not to forget because you were perfect for me.

Coming of Age
Coming to a place
you need to be, here.
For your life...
For your sanity...
Aware of yourself, and
Being alive for the first time.
You have arrived and life has
welcomed you
The hereness, actuality of it all...
Can overwhelm you.
But will you let it?
Do not bind yourself...after you
Have just been set free.
Stay alive ...and wonder at
God's love.
