Alrighty then, I have been tagged by the lovely Ms. Digits.

The rules are as follows:
1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages).
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Post a comment and then tag five more people.

"This is no longer such a startling idea, for, due to our increasing psychological sophistication, we are inclined to be somewhat suspicious of ailments which evidence no organic cause, and of individuals who display such ailments on a regular basis. The term "psychosomatic" is part of our everyday language, although it is generally used to describe someone else's illness, not one's own. But we need to remember the enormity of this discovery in the medical world of the 19th century, when the power of the psyche over the body had been forgotten since pagan times."

That's from the book The Astrological Neptune and the Quest for Redemption by Liz Greene. An interesting book that contains lots of great insight, but unfortunately it's not quite as readable as some of Liz Greene's other work. Her writing generally holds an appeal that extends beyond her target audience of practicing astrologers, mythology buffs and Jungian analysts, but not this time. If I didn't already hold a deep interest in the subject matter I wouldn't have any idea how to make heads or tails of this book.

I've been a part of the StumbleUpon community for over 2 and a half years. In that time I've met so many incredible people. This is just a quick post to say "thank you" to each and every one of those people. You all know who you are, whether we've shared a deep and meaningful friendship, an exchange of private messages or some great websites and conversation. It's meant something special to me.

Sometimes people think of experiences in cyber reality as somehow less valid or "real" than the experiences of everyday living, but I don't think any of us would continue seeking out these cyber encounters if they didn't hold some genuine significance in our daily lives. So, thank you, all of you. Thank you for touching my heart and my mind, and for bringing so much beauty into my life.
