This weekend was a bit crowded for the movie goers. It proved not to be true when the next day, the Oscars rating tanked. People went to watch movies on DVD or have better things to do? A number of Oscar nominated films like: Juno, No Country for Old Men, or There Will Be Blood are earning their bucks. Interestingly enough, theater number crunchers are really interested if you do go to the movies or not. Its just mind bottling. Here:

3D with no substance tops all. Its call science and fantasy.
About the movie: based on the Walt Disney TV series: Hannah Montana. Reminder of the similar 3D movie that just came out recently: U2 3D Concert?
You do not need to head to the concerts now. Now all you have to do would be wearing 3D glasses to see 3Dimensional concerts. How unreal. The atmosphere of the concert halls and the fans all get lost at the movies. Sigh. Do you know you cannot even scream or clap? You can only react so much in the movie theatres? Bummer?!?

Rambo came out of the theatres last weekend. A comedy parody managed to bet Rambo out of the top spot at the box office. Meet the Spartans. The past weekend was also the SAGS Awards
http://imdb.com/ri/RTO_HP/RHS_BUCKET/74961//features/rto/2008/sags
and it was touching that some of the celebraties gathered together and honour Heath Ledger.

This week's box office in the US got an extended boost because of King's day on Monday and the WGA strike. Maybe people renewed their passion for the movies after months of politics and Christmas season movies. Cloverfield was the winner at the box office. About Cloverfield: Five young New Yorkers throw their friend a going-away party the night that a monster the size of a skyscraper descends upon the city. Told from the point of view of their video camera, the film is a document of their attempt to survive the most surreal, horrifying event of their lives.
Despite of promoting and having all the hype, Mad Money starring Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah-Katie Holmes did not fare too well at the box office.
The movie that fare better then Money was Dresses. About Dresses: After serving as a bridesmaid 27 times, a young woman (Heigl) wrestles with the idea of watching as her sister marries the man (Marsden) she's secretly in love with.
Thats a lot of weddings and friends that Heigl has. Wow@! Most of the audiences according to Variety, went to Dresses on a Friday night, a date night.
Unless you're in the Sundance Festival, enjoy the movies.

Box Office can be strange nowadays. Its true when your only real thrills will be heading to the movies. Okay, there are lots of good movies and I thought people would wait for something exciting to see. Its indeed though, very good week for the 2 men who are over 60 years of age. Bucket List had been on the theaters for a week with limited release til this weekend, some decided that TV couch potato would not be lasting sensation. Now what the Bucket about,
“Bucket,” which follows the quest of two terminally ill men to live it up before time runs out, brought director Rob Reiner the biggest bow of his career

Please note that in my favorite pages, the stats are very interesting. 70% of people who went to this particular movie are over 35 years of age. The rest, you guess it, went and see
Runner-up “First Sunday,” an urban comedy starring Ice Cube and Tracy Morgan, finished at the top end of projections.
Some of these sources is from the Variety.com site.
For the rest of the box office and trailers, visit my favorites.
