I've become fed up with a lot of the rhetoric surrounding the climate change debate.

On the one side you have a core group who use fear to hammer home their side of the argument, while on the other side a core group expresses disbelief, and refuses to do anything about the problem.

Included on both sides are those in the media who whip up stories based on misinformation, using unscientific methods to prove a point.

In the middle are the vast majority of people who are looking for guidance on the issue, and can only follow the advice of who ever is speaking loudest!

I blogged about creating confusion about climate change here today.

I believe that reasonable debate based on scientific observation over a long time is the only way to come up with answers one way or another.

In the meantime, it makes perfect sense to cut emissions and do what we can to protect the environment.

To these ends, we have installed water tanks, and are having back to grid solar panels fitted to the house to generate electricity.

My cousin did this some time back, and is saving about 30% off his power bill.

With energy prices set to continue rising, this makes perfect sense to us, as well as protecting the environment!

I'm thinking of setting up a new blog detailing our personal progress in this area, as well as coming up with tips and hints on energy saving and environmental conservation.

Your feed back on my blog is more than welcome!

I almost got caught up in the iPhone hysteria over the past few weeks.

Although it was time for an upgrade, I was a little unsure of which way to go, so I postponed my decision to last saturday, when I took a punt on the Nokia n95 instead.

I remember years back when radio/cassette players hit the market, and some boffin telling me that they were usually a good radio, or good cassette player, but rarely both.

His words come back to me today and cause me to wonder at the combinations of ipod/mp3 player + phone + internet devices available today!

While for most people it's not an option to carry three different units with them, it will be interesting to see how these pan out!

In the end I guess that we all have personal reasons for choosing one item over another. I wrote about mine here!

Have a great week!

It's been an exciting time as we gear up to the release of Share2Grow, a project that has been 12 months in the making. We will be releasing a Facebook application, as well as creating a new social network.

As a first step, I have begun blogging on Sucomments

My social media exploration has also led me to try Posterous. It's a great blogging site that is quite simple to use.

You can check me out there by Going here!

More updates soon! Cheers!

Someone stumbled my Social Media post earlier, and it went through the roof traffic wise.

What I really like was the fact that someone that I rarely see or here from dropped by my blog and read it.

The fact that they liked it enough to stumble it was a bonus.

That's what I like about Stumbleupon. People sharing sites because they like what they see.

She came back later and we had a quick chat on Skype about social media, and how it is misused by marketers.

If the people who tend to send stumble requests to me with monotonous regularity read this, please note that social networking is about connecting, not getting me to promote your posts.

If I like it, I stumble it, if I don't...

That's my rant for Monday, have a great week!

I've found an easy way to build my on line presence!

I simply set up a profile at HubPages.com. I can publish articles there, and link back to my blog as well.

The great thing about it is that apart from being easy to set up, there is a profit share arrangement too!

Too easy! Have a great weekend!

I'm tired of people testing online friendship with repeated requests to stumble, digg or twitter their posts/sites.

It's only going to get worse as more people discover the power of social media. I don't mind doing anyone a favor, but my view is that if the the content is good, they shouldn't need to ask.

I've been playing around on Plurk lately.

While it's a lot of fun, I have noticed a lot of people using it as a broadcast service like they do with Twitter. This means that they make about 5 times as many plurks as the ones they respond to.

Social media is about being social, not adding friends so that they will buy something from you!

Well, that's my rant for today! Have a good one!
