A not-so-well-made video of Fasching (Karnivale)in Mainz, 23 Feb, 2009. Mainzers are real party animals!

The major floats this year were VERY political. Germans are also very unhappy about the economic crisis.

But my favorite float was of the Statue of Liberty lying on it's back, with Obama pushing it up, trying to re-erect it! I'll try to find a good photo online. Stay tuned....
