Thinking about my Dad tonight. He used to say about elections "better the devil you know then the devil you don't know". Dad died in 1981 or he may have retracted that in consideration of the bush regimes.Dad was a very smart man and I wish I could spend a day finding out who he is. I was in my teens when he died. I miss you Dad.

I think a good idea would be to limit housing sizes. This would save our carbon footprint too. A house could only have a reasonable (by middle class standards maybe) amount of volume. I say volume because a 2000sf house with 10 foot ceilings would not use as much energy to heat and cool as a 1800sf house with 15 foot ceilings. So like rich peeps might have to rent a hall for thier fancy parties but they could pay for the hall with the money they save on electricity, water, gas, furniture, house cleaning etc.

The world makes out like a bandit because we're not heating/cooling unused spaces. Also if we put the moratorium on new housing volumes we can watch the rich peeps fight over the old houses. Maybe turn it into a reality television show " the rich and famous cat fights over bloated houses" Its sure to be a hit , because we watch the stupidest stuff on television.

In the space we saved not putting bloated buildings we can plant trees, shrubs, flowers, veggies, etc.
