Just didn't work for me. There was a really long process involved of downloading RealPlayer (which I normally avoid like the plague) and then on top of that you had to customize it with the site's player. After having gobbled about 20 minutes of a Saturday morning it didn't work. I got the welcome message so the player was working but all the links to the channels turned up error messages.

So then I went to the "contact" link and sent a message "help, help, no opera. Save me!"

And I received yet ANOTHER error message. Apparently this one was an "unexpected" error. Sigh. Actually I should have expected it.

A good starting point for research on opera but beware of some holes in the data. It would be fantastic if they had built it as a Wiki.

Sorry to disagree with everyone but this site is so ugly it's a total turn off. Plaintext would be more agreeable. Midis are maybe useful for demo purposes. Live performances are all by unknown eastern Europeans of unpredictable levels of talent. Note that the "5 downloads per day" is by individual movement, not full works. You can't even select "full work" unless you are a paying customer. I think it was a line in a Woody Allen film, "such bad food, and such small portions".

I agree with other reviewers that this page is very boring to look at! However the writing is superb for an introduction to the novice. Really funny and engaging while being informative. It's a warm kind of funny.

I contracted Hahn in a former orchestra position. She's a consummate professional to work with. It's too bad that the recording industry chooses to market classical artists in this manner. I've seen a number of attractive women artists whose serious talents were sneered at after a cheesecake marketing campaign. Lara St. John is one who comes to mind, in this regard.
