I have not left SU, but will no longer be playing an active part...I use it now only as a bookmark store .....It used to be fun but is no more so I will say thank you for the ride and good luck to all my virtual friends.....

I enjoyed the ride but i am too busy to handle a new stumbleupon...what is social search anyway? I can't even find this page in the new version...Now I just use SU as a useful bookmark for discoveries....

in a few days time (the 17th to be exact) i will have been a Stumbler
for FIVE years...that means i have been stumbling for more than 20% of
my life (not many people can say that apart from maybe Strangej!)
During this time i have learned a great deal about computing, i could
just about cut and paste when i arrived here..i have made a lot of
friends, visited some interesting corners of the internet and
dispensed, words of wisdom, utter crap, the odd swear word, lots of
advice, a lot of nonsense and had the occasional
argument/discussion.... some people deserve a special mention...inter
alia, geoff and garrett, who both turned down my proposals of marriage,
Tigerdragonbrand and zizzy (remember those quizzes?)Ashes and her
abandoned garden..Cloudhopper, better known to newbies as CH...we have
had a love hate relationship, i love him and he hates me :-) .. the
above mentioned StrangeJ who usually managed to solve my computer
problems, fgviva, celtic warrior, Konradc (another computer wizard),
nibito, waschabad, diamondz, invent, dragonhead (we sometimes agree)
HardToHandle (we rarely agree) pinguy, (more computer wizardry)
morosoph, one of my first friends (he thinks a lot) eric, the lovable
SU engineer, Kapka (my secret love) Thlayli, another computer whiz, old
friends like Stringo and baesparza, not forgetting castorquinn, Aum-pa,
calgal, etcetera (another smart blonde).. i could go on and on.. many
have moved on, like Hand-head-man, Thomcat, Herald, miriami my polish
friend caile-girl (come back soon)..and not forgetting a special
mention for our dearly departed Squirt..... SU has changed a great deal
over the years, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the
worse,but then havent we all? ......there are hundreds of stumblers i
have not mentioned, but it does not mean that you are forgotten...

We sit and we type, and we stare at our screens.
We all have to wonder what this possibly means.
With our mouse we roam through the rooms in a maze
Looking for something or someone as we sit in a daze.
We chat with each other.
We type all our woes.
Small groups we do form and gang up on our foes.
We wait for somebody to type out our name.
We want recognition, but it is always the same.
We give kisses and hugs,and sometimes flirt
In PMs we chat deeply and reveal why we hurt.
We do form friendships - but - why we don't know,
But some of these friendships will flourish and grow.
�Why is it on screen we can be so bold?
Telling our secrets that have never been told.
Why is it we share the thoughts in our mind
With those we can't see as though we were blind?
The answer is simple. It is as clear as a bell.
We all have our problems and need someone to tell.
We can't tell real people, but tell someone we must.
So we turn to the 'puter and to those we can trust.
Even though it is crazy, the truth still remains
They are friends without faces and odd little names.
