Had another tag cleanup session. Photos in the photoblog are not necessarily "photography" so they've been detagged. I view photography more as the act of doing rather than the subject of it.

Time for a little tag cleanup ... to create a photoblog subsite, I'm going back thru my archives and tagging images with "photos" and removing dead links.

Thought provoking article I read today as it touches me personally.

The article talks about a study that shows all the distractions of the IT industry lowers IQ by 10 points. Being an IT worker, I agree with the study. I'm constantly baraged by emails and phone calls from clients asking for the status of my work. I find it hard to concentrate on my programming under that pressure. I'd love to tune them out but they pay my salary.

I do not think that the effect is permanent. I find after a long refreshing vacation (cellphone, pager and IM turned off) my memory is restored and I can actually remember my anniversary and my wife's birthday!!

Being a skeptic, I looked it up to see if it's a hoax. They're unable to prove it's a hoax even though it sounds like one, but the credentials of the author of the study is a bit questionable.

Perhaps this is why Professor Don Knuth doesn't have an email.
