So I came across this picture, and it bothers me. Not the "it bothers me" like I'm annoyed kinda thing... more like "it bothers me" because it seems to be misleading kinda thing. The sign is so simple and so uncomplicated. I work in an Emergency Room, and it is far from simple or uncomplicated. This sign gives visitors and families the impression that Emergency Rooms are areas that are "right this way"... the arrow says "come right in"... the plain font says "this is a zone where things are straightforward"...

I think instead, a sign for the Emergency room should have a crazy zagging arrow... or better yet multiple arrows... or better still a no entry symbol!! And the font... it should be crazy ransom note lettering or wild nearly un-readable script. And the colors... there should be so many colors that it looks like someone threw-up a pinata and glued the chunks to the sign.

*sigh* Now that would give a more accurate impression.
