Recently I stumbled onto a website called http://www.ZamZar.com

ZamZar offers you the ability to freely convert files into different formats without downloading any software. Basically you upload the file to the ZamZar server, or provide it the URL and ZamZar converts the file into your chosen format. ZamZar then sends you an email with the newly converted file download link.

*TIP* You know YouTube streams its videos in a special Flash format... Give ZamZar the URL to your favourite video and it will convert it into WMV, MP4, AVI or any of the other chosen formats available. Great for uploading to your favourite portable video player.
