With a spherical exterior for lawn rolling, a cave-like interior for two, a steam-bent wooden construction and the potential for fun on a galactic scale, the Rolling Summer House is so weird it just works. I want to roll across vast continents in one of these.

A quasicrystal, a representation of the ripple pattern of nine plane waves. The pattern occurs in nature; it can form after simultaneously dropping nine stones into a still pond, for example. OK, I don't really grasp the concept either, but the computer rendered picture (created by Harvard physicist Eric Heller) is a great end result.
