Is it just me or is this season's Next Food Network Star a bit drab? I don't find any of the contestants very appealing at all. Except for Shane but only because of his earnestness and youthful greenness, which are not qualities for a Food Network host.

Although I have to admit I chuckled when Martha evaluated one of the contestants and said "I don't know how provocative she would be with a show of her own." Now look who's talking?! How provocative is Martha Stewart save her investment scandal? Julia Child she ain't! Although one COULD argue that what Martha lacks in provocativeness or engaging personality, she makes up for in her encyclopedic knowledge of all things food and home maintenance.
