There were more, but those 3 were our favourites...for the following reasons:

* We are talking to the Comcast Representative using our VONAGE phone! We could hear her perfectly, and she could obviously hear us! The Vonage line quality is usually very good, and our family in the UK have even commented on how clear the line is when we call them from the US.

* We were talking to the representative using our Vonage phone line...and our PC was off! It is a complete LIE to tell people that Vonage only works when their PC is turned on.

* We are technical people, with backgrounds in IT security. We are fully aware that there are always risks when you connect a device to the Internet...but it is complete nonsense to tell us that anyone can listen in on our Vonage calls just by connecting to us over the Internet. For the record, our Vonage box also sits behind a hardware firewall/router.

Something interesting someone left for me on my Orkut page:

In Year 1981
1. Prince Charles got married
2. Liverpool crowned Champions of Europe
3. Australia lost the Ashes
4. Pope Died

In Year 2005
1. Prince Charles got married (again)
2. Liverpool crowned Champions of Europe(again)
3. Australia lost the Ashes (again)
4. Pope Died (again)

Moral of the story -
In future, if Prince Charles decides to re-marry....
please warn the pope

When I came home from work today, I was dead tired. I took a nap. When I woke up, I was feeling pretty pissed off for some reason. Went out for a drive, nope, didn't help. Smoked, watched TV, bought some crap on the internet, nothing.

I don't really know what's up except for the fact that I am feeling pretty pissed off at something. If you care, I will write about that in a few days.

All I think of or say right now is that I will be a lot friendlier to the .Net junta from now on. Why? I don't fucking know. But once I have gathered my thoughts, I will write about it.

If you want a very basic version of the reason for my change of heart, here it is:
http://blogs.sun.com/roller/page/jonathan?entry=lunch_with_tony_blair#comments

Look for the entry #5 under comments written by HC, that's me.

I just watched Pirates of the Silicon Valley. Fairly good movie. Here's the gist:
Steve Jobs is not so great after all.
Bill Gates is a thieving, stealing, no talent marketing guy.
Steve Ballmer is a bumbling buffoon who had the good fortune to get into MS when he did.

Another day, yet another fuck up by Microsoft that makes me mad.
So, today MS released another shiny website showing unnaturally happy people, all beaming about their success in life which using MS's cluster fucked products has brought them.
Anyways, here's the link: http://preview.microsoft.com/en/us/default.aspx
And here's the funny thing. If you try to click on that link from any browser like Firefox, Opera etc., basically non-Internet Explorer, it takes you/redirects you to MS's home page.
Hmmmm....maybe MS has not finished its website and its working only with IE right now and later on they will add support for Firefox etc. That's what I thought too.
Here's the fucked up part. If you are as smart as me, you would already be using Firfox (I kiiidddd, I kiiddd IE users) and you would also have a neat little extension called NoScript. What this does is it blocks JavaScript code which is the cause of all those annoying pop-ups etc. So, I had NoScript running and went to that link. It opened up fine and did not redirect me or anything.
So, if everything is working fine at that link. Why is MS blocking Firefox and Opera users? Who the fuck knows what those retards sitting in their cubes think of all day. Even more funny is the fact that if you disguise your browser as IE (its pretty simple, do a Google search), then also everything works fine. Go figure....
