At HappyAcres, nothing's more familiar than a bale out.

Horses munch alfalfa bales in the corrals. Goats get theirs, too. And sheep. And thieving deer.

Bales are stacked impossibly high in front of the Feed & Seed -- "$7 Cash and Carry".

Every pickup seems to be carting hay, and straw is scattered on the road.

With last week's rain, bales left in the field for pistol practice have begun sprouting green.
