The twins lemonjello and orangejello (la-mon-jalo and or-an-jalo) Shithead (sha-theed) and my personal favorite La-Shia… Her teacher kept saying her name wrong, and the girl would not correct her (kindergarten) so the mom called and told the teacher that the dash (that would be the hyphen) was not silent and her name was pronounced (la-dash-ia). I didn�t even know that symbols could make a phonetic sound… I was wrong! Oh and we have the girls named after cars: Porche, Mercedes, Lexus, and Infiniti. I would be so mad if I was Infiniti."

This is a wonderful interview with Oscar Brown, Jr. If you do not know this amazing artist, please do check out some of his music. My father introduced me to his work when I was a child and I love it ever since... It amazes me what some Africans were doing in the 40's and 50's US.

I watched The Time Traveler's Wife today and thought I would share with you 3 valuable lessons learned.

1. Never, under any circumstance, should you go hunting with your step father. You'll shoot your eye out kid.
2. Stop meeting girls on-line and visit your neighborhood play ground.
After all, it is better to nurture your future wife from a young age than to leave things up to chance.
3. And when you know she is the one, let her know right then and there.
