The Dorothea Lange Collection at the Oakland Museum of California includes 25,000 negatives and hundreds of prints, all of which are available in a digital format. In addition to her iconic images of the American Depression, the collection includes images from all over the world, including these 1958 negatives from Japan. Because these images were captured from the negatives "by video disk" in the 1990s, they are not good quality by today's standards. However, according to the museum, "by capturing the entire negative from the proof sheet, rather than the image alone, this form of digitization offers a very unique perspective of Lange's work."
