I discovered a week or so ago that I had a backlog of 77 friend requests in StumbleUpon (we really need email notifications of friend requests, don't we?)

Since then, I've worked my way through the list, removed the dormant accounts and reciprocated the people who look like a good match for my preferences. Any non-active Stumblers were bypassed as well: because I want to subscribe to Stumblers with an active stream of interesting content.

I'm hoping this will be a new level of engagement in StumbleUpon for me: I don't just share my own stuff - if I see a really interesting link, I'll share it out. I won't stumble everything that's sent to me either, but if I like it, I almost always leave a review! Happy Stumbling!

I'm having a bit of fun modifying my StumbleUpon preferences today. Interests remain much the same as they were when I signed up, but there are a few fitness/health categories that interest me now!

At the same time, I'm revising my profile information and reaching out to a few new and interesting stumblers, something I haven't done in a while. It's nice to see the diversity of stumbles out there that I've been missing out on!

Just realising that I rarely use the blog feature here on StumbleUpon. My typing's heavily messed up today because some evil insect bit my hand last night and it has since swollen up quite badly. It really frickin' hurts.

So, a call to the doctor is in order, because apparently the pain shouldn't be going up into my arm...

If you don't hear from me within a couple of days....well, it's been fun. :(

I want to switch back to Yahoo! for search. Or Live.com.

Google's boring me. All the shitty SEO talk is boring me. The obsession and hours lost checking PageRank and other metrics is a waste of time. I hate that when I see a new website I automatically check their PageRank in the Google toolbar. Why should that be a signifier of trust? Surely I should determine what I think of the site by the content I see?

So, for the moment, I've switched off the Google Toolbar and am using the Yahoo toolbar for search. Different sets of results for all my queries, some Google-loved sites have disappeared while good new sites are starting to emerge. If Live has a Firefox toolbar, I may give that a blast as well.

Time to be search engine promiscuous.

Woo hoo! I love this new StumbleUpon blog editor, and the interface has had a major spruce up. It's much more usable even though the information presented is at times overwhelming. I like the fact that you can now subscribe to other stumblers via RSS - not sure if that feature was there previously, but interesting all the same.
