I visited with a Seal Team last week to hear what they are doing in the realm of Knowledge Management - that oft used term that describes the intersection of people, information, technology and processes to deliver the ability to make sound decisions.

What I found was the superb effort of a young officer, whose aim was to better prepare warriors headed to a deployment location by providing them information that they otherwise would not have had until they arrived. The portal that was created provides near-real-time tactical applications. The result is enhanced situational awareness.

And this is just one of many such success stories. KM efforts have sprouted up all across the Navy-Marines Corps teams.
