"Experts estimate that between 3,500 and 4,000 tigers exist in the wild. These numbers are drastically lower than the 100,000 or more estimated to have been in the wild at the start of the 20th century. Tigers have and continue to face such issues as poaching, habitat loss, issues with local human populations and the lucrative trade occurring which involves tiger parts.

In order to help save tigers, tiger experts are meeting this week in Nepal in order to determine new ways of saving the tiger. The experts came from twenty different countries, a majority of which are experts from countries which have wild populations of tigers."
