Eco-Libris found at http://www.ecolibris.net is a relatively new and innovative website that allows book lovers to go green. Book lovers everywhere have had a hard time with the going green prospect. We love to hold a hard cover book in our hands. Reading each word of story-line page after page is something we crave to do. We almost always feel guilty after reading our favorite novels though because we start thinking of how many trees were cut down to make this very fine book. Well book lovers, with Eco-Libris we can be guilt free.

Scientists who want to describe their work on Wikipedia should not be forced to give up the kudos of a respected journal. So says a group of physicists who are going head-to-head with a publisher because it will not allow them to post parts of their work to the online encyclopaedia, blogs and other forums.

The publisher has digitized 17,000 titles. We asked Simon & Schuster, which says the real number is closer 14,000, but they hope to get to 17,000 by the end of the year. Of those, about two-thirds are currently available in print on-demand, downloadable audio, or e-book formats -- Amazon (AMZN) Kindle, Sony (SNE) Reader, Palm (PALM), Adobe (ADBE) Digital Editions, and Microsoft (MSFT) Reader.
