From the page: "If we aim to enjoy what we do and who we work with, we might even enjoy the journey. When you have a reason, a purpose, well then you have something to keep you motivated when the going gets tough or things don't turn out as you planned."

This is a quote from a superb blog post put together by Jasmin Tragas that clearly comes to state why I come to work every day and enjoy every minute of it! One of my favourite blog posts in a long while!

Very helpful post from Beth Kanter that expands further with some link love on a superb piece of work that David Stephenson has done to promote Twitter as a tool to be used while in emergencies to keep folks in the loop of what may be happening. This is the kind of work that clearly expands social computing beyond the workplace and with an immediate impact in our personal lives. Highly recommended!

Nice blog post from Andy Piper, who alerted me on this particular Stop Blocking! Campaign that I have just recently started following up. Andy gets to discuss the kind of impact we would all suffer from with the blocking of different social software tools. For Andy his blog is his CV, so it is for me, too, so to think we have been blocked from our CVs and our work does not really make lot of sense, does it?

From the page: "The internet is about communication, sharing and working together. Having internet access at work is really no different from employees being allowed to bring in newspapers or books to read in their lunch breaks. Cut your employees off from the outside world, and you may as well go back to them working on pen and paper.

Both employee and employer need to take responsibility, employers need to provide, and employees need to act responsibly. Using arguments like â€weâ€re protecting our employees†or â€we cannot trust individuals not to use these resources inappropriately†if just nonsense.."
Great weblog post put together by Andrew where he clearly states the dangers of the continues blockage of Internet resources for the knowledge workforce and the kind of impact it will have. Good read and another one joining the campaign!
