Ok someone explain this to me:

Newspapers have decades worth of back-copies, millions of them probably, that they just keep to themselves (or let the odd library have a couple of copies). Why not just upload them all and let everyone access them for free? I can get hold of a search facility for about 50 UK newspapers (all the major broadsheets) for the last 10 years through my university (sorry students only :( ). This service is incredible, even if they only get uploaded a week after printing, its THE best resource for understanding all manner of current affairs, but imagine if it went all the back for decades upon decades, and everyone could use it!

Normally with this kinda thing I could understand their logic, even if I thought it was crap: "we can't give stuff away for free you crazy beatnik, we need to make MONEY!!!" But they don't make any money of back catalogues anyway? So what have they got to lose? The negligible cost of actually storing the data?!?! That's a pathetic excuse, and made completely redundant when compared to the extra branding they would achieve.

Imagine how much more informed we would all be if we had a decent in depth search facility of all the papers ever, hell whack magazines etc in there as well.

Things like this anger me.

List of dubstep souljas, this is a work in progress, trying to focus on lesser knowns, if anyone has any other suggestions, or knows where other free tracks/mixs are available, message me!
Okay so this is my new stumble blog, my original being mlansman. Because there are so many posts under that name which I no longer feel reflect my views, I have decided to start over.

I'm currently in the process of going through all the old posts on there to see if there's anything worth keeping, and if so I'll move them over to here. Eventually I will delete mlansman altogether.

This blog will be an eclectic collection of websites with no theme to unite them other then my own interest. It will be primarily for my own use, to keep track of sites that I like/think are useful and to record comments on them; however I shall endeavour to make it as user-friendly as possible so as to entice debate, and hopefully come into contact with some new minds...

Enjoy!
