If I could fall in love with a man it would be with him
The way his voice rose up so gracefully to sing
Leonard's hallelujah and that dusty old hymn
About the white feathered falcon and the injured king.

His curly hair and the look of James Dean
The witches' rave always makes Halloween
How I wish that I could have been in your scene
And how cruel this old world really has been
How I wish that I could have been in your scene

And from his dream letter to your dream brother
I listened to you for the first time with Anna
And our last embrace was mixed up with your colour
And then the other lovers I wished had come over...

At least I've got your sweet sounds and my whiskey
And I, like you wished that Saint Joan would kiss me
I know her and seen her the life and soul of the party
That patterned green dress and her skin brushed so softly

Right it's done. At least I'm closer to having a full album as I've ever been. Aside from A few creases to iron out here and there. And a couple of takes to be re-laid. And three more songs to finish... ok, ok well I'm getting there :) At least the sound is pretty much exactly as I want it on the tracks here, instruments, and levels are all pretty much set, it's more kinks in my vocal takes that I want to sort out. But meh. Have a listen if you like. Mp3s for speed cos I'm going to bed now - 7am starts are a true ballache.

Six tracks in all. They have numbers so you can get a feel of where in the album they'll lie and where the gaps are.

You are my muse, you are my medicine;
I am the moon and you are the yellow sun;

You are known by love, and by love unspoken,
You are the fields. And the trees;
You are a warming autumn breeze;
You are fragility and you are strength;
You are the seas and the sky;
You are my tear-drops on the fire.

You are a symphony of science, an overture of art;
You are the stars in the heavens and space holding them apart;
You are my muse. And you are my medicine.

Without you I fear, the beauty in my world will find itself forgotten;
For I am the moon and you are the yellow sun,
And I cannot unstart that which has already begun.

I am the moon, and you are the yellow sun;
You are my muse, my medicine.

When on earth did I become so droll? I used to have much more of an edge... sharper. I want my claws back. Fight and attitude. Something's bleached my colours and made me dull. Hurt? but I'm in love. Shouldn't that make you gleam? fast directionless colour? I want to be fearless again. No more critical process. Just lay all my words out on the lake and watch them float away off to the edge and over the waterfall. Time to get back to my creative. Time to get back.

To all that care, I've had a few weeks off from pretty much all outside contact other than work, so sorry if you've been expecting my to get in touch or something, I've been busy with my girlfriend :D normal service should resume from tomorrow, and maybe even this evening depending on how much distraction I need from Inga now being 300 miles away in Cologne. :( Music, comment, general bollocks, rants, pictures of strange/funny/interesting/striking/emotional things will all return in due course. We are still selling the Global Jam cd on cdbaby for $15 buy it, it's pretty fantastic, even if I do say so myself. http://www.cdbaby.com/globaljam my music can be found here: http://www.myspace.com/paperdragons

And finally; (if only they had a story like this at the end of the news) Go here: http://www.cnduk.org because I don't know about anyone else but I don't particularly like the idea of British nuclear warheads, and I can't help thinking the idea of a "nuclear war deterrent" in the form of nuclear weapons is just plain and simple utter stupidity. It scares the hell out of me.

This comes across as being one of those nonsense survey-style personality tests, but this one definately has it's figures based on research, and raises some pretty interesting question about the value we place on human characteristics. plus it values me at £1,305,233 ($2,537,044) whereas I'd probably be happy selling myself for £10 and a bag of chips... so that's cool. Although it does make me feel a bit guilty about why I am supposedly worth so much.

Thankfully, most of my value is down to my intelligence - I hate IQ tests, but I did the BBC one for a laugh a couple of years ago and it came up with 127... apparently this means I'm "highly intelligent" or more to the point it means I can sort shapes out in my head and have good grammar... It also means I'm roughly as intelligent as George W. Bush... so that's essentially proof that IQ is complete nonsense if you ask me.

Here's a poem I wrote for the new love in my life, Inga Giulia
Birds

I am lost for words;
For your beauty is much more
Than most beautiful songs of birds
They rise and they soar
And they circle above
Just as my sweetest love
Leaves me speachless.
It is you you that I adore

Inga Giulia Grodzki;
I think you may be far to wonderful
For me
I am but a scattered artist
Who can't even describe
Concisely, why
You'd ever fall in love with
This boy with a thorn in his side.

And stolen lines from other lives
For other loves from other minds
Cannot convey my feelings
And their heavenly designs.
Tis a pity then, for 'tis I
Who is left to write these words
Because your love, it
Leaves me speachless;
Just like the songs of birds.

by Gareth Llewellyn Armstrong
