The Devil's Dictionary began as part of a weekly newspaper in 1881 and continued until 1906. It was written by Ambrose Bierce, a celebrated American cynic and humorist. Some of his definitions are:
Conservative, n. A statesman enamored by existing evils,as distinguished from Liberal who want to replace them with others.
Dictionary, n. a malevolent literary device for cramping the growth of a language and making it hard and inelastic.
Egotist, n. A person of low taste, more interested in himself than me.
Witty and insightful. It should be brought back. I have chosen a flip book version, but you can try other formants.
