		<p><font size="5"><font face="Tahoma">Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex 8.10 on my MacBook Pro</font></font><br />
<br />
I've been using Ubuntu on my mac for a while and everything pretty much works without any cofiguration on Intrepid, but there were a couple of annoying problems that I had to sort out.<br />
<br />
<font size="4"><font face="Tahoma"># and &euro; keys on UK macintosh keyboard layout</font></font><br />
<br />
Hash and euro didn't work which can be a pain, so I've mapped them to the key left of the Z key (marked ~`)<br />
<br />
You probably should create a new keyboard layout but I just added the new key mapping to the existing gb symbols file.<br />
<br />
Open it with:<br />
<br />
<font face="Courier New">sudo gedit /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/gb</font><br />
<br />
Scroll down to the United Kingdom - Macintosh bit at the bottom and replace the two lines underneath with:<br />
<font face="Courier New">    key <AE02> {    [               2,              at    ]    };<br />
    key <AE03> {    [               3,        sterling    ]    };<br />
    key <LSGT> {    [      numbersign,        EuroSign    ]    };</font><br />
<br />
and log out for it to take effect.<br />
<br />
<font size="4"><font face="Tahoma">Touchpad scrolling and double tap right-click</font></font><br />
To get the touchpad working properly on Intrepid I had to configure HAL.<br />
<br />
Edit a new .fdi file for it:<br />
<font face="Courier New"><br />
gedit /etc/hal/fdi/policy/synaptics.fdi<br />
</font><br />
<br />
then paste this into it and save:<br />
<font face="Courier New"><br />
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?><br />
<deviceinfo version="0.2"><br />
 <device><br />
  <match key="input.x11_driver" contains="synaptics"><br />
   <merge key="input.x11_options.SHMConfig1" type="string">true</merge><br />
   <merge key="input.x11_options.VertTwoFingerScroll" type="string">true</merge><br />
   <merge key="input.x11_options.HorizTwoFingerScroll" type="string">true</merge><br />
   <merge key="input.x11_options.VertEdgeScroll" type="string">false</merge><br />
   <merge key="input.x11_options.HorizEdgeScroll" type="string">false</merge><br />
   <merge key="input.x11_options.TapButton1" type="string">1</merge><br />
   <merge key="input.x11_options.TapButton2" type="string">3</merge><br />
  </match><br />
 </device><br />
</deviceinfo><br />
</font><br />
<br />
You need to restart hal for it to take effect and probably log out and in again<br />
<font face="Courier New"><br />
sudo /etc/init.d/hal restart<br />
</font></p>

		<p>Azureus 3 has a built-in IP Filter to keep out troublemakers. Just give it a URL pointing to a list of IP addresses (e.g. <a href="http://www.stumbleupon.com/to//emulepawcio.sourceforge.net/ipfilter.zip/t:4afb4b164ed0e;src:syndicate" rel="nofollow" target="_new">http://emulepawcio.sourceforge.net/ipfilter.zip</a> ) and it'll automatically update itself every week.</p>
