I have not shared much in SU at all. Generally, it has been out of consideration for my friends and subscribes in SU. After all, if all your active friends started sharing, how many pages would be sent to you daily - 10, 100 or 500?

However, I now feel that I am just being too conservative. People still share with me, and if it is of interest to me, I still thumb it up. Everyone seem to be doing it. And no one seems to mind too much.

So the questions are 1) Would it be a problem to get say, one share a day from me? I assure you the shared story won't be rubbish :)

2) Does sharing actually have any benefit to the page I have discovered? Does it get any traffic due to the thumbs? As an ex journalist, I look at discovering a site as a reward for good content - send them some traffic! But I don't know if discovering and sharing, and the thumb ups from friends, sends them any traffic at all.

Any answers would be appreciated.

I have been noticing for a while - I have some 1360 subscribers. But I don't see most of them when I discover a story - none of them seem to have seen my discoveries. Or they have chosen to almost never thumb up any of them (which is quite unlikely.)

So is something wrong with my choice of stories? Is something wrong with my subscribers? Is something wrong with SU and none of them are seeing what I discover? Very curious.

Its not a matter of getting thumbs. The discoveries are all from really big sites which I am not connected to. So the thumbs really don't matter, those guys probably care a whit about any traffic they get from an SU discovery. But I don't get how this happens.

If any of you know how or why this happens, please let me know.

Whatever your tag pages say - I HAVE thumbed, reviewed and tagged more Wordpress pages than anyone on your Wordpress tag page!

Come on. You can at least show my avatar there!

Guys, if you need to find Stumbleupon pages about Wordpress, try typing dancewithshadows.stumbleupon.com/tag/wordpress - It IS better than the SU wordpress tag page!!!

Why do pages I discovered or liked still sometimes show with 'I Like it' not grayed out? It's irritating the hell out of me.

Sometimes, I really don't get SU. Or I don't get SU users! :D

Take a look this below - http://35mm.instantfundas.com/2008/08/nordlingen-town-inside-meteorite-crater.html

I submitted this to SU yesterday. It is about the town of Nordlingen, which sits in a metoerite impact crater.

Now, it has pics. It has details. And most of us do not live inside a metoerite crater, I am sure!

So how come, after 13 hours, it does not have a single thumbs up?

This is not a dupe for sure. I stumble a lot, and I haven't seen this one before. So there is a good chance that this story was new to SU.

One would expect that SU would send it to a lot of SU users, and it should get a few thumbs ups.

But nothing.

SU users are not bothered about towns that sit in meteorite craters?
SU does not care, and probably sent it to the wrong users who wouldn't care about it?
I am awfully wrong about what users of SU like, and meteorite craters are like mutton to a vegetarian?

Something is funny!
