can't get rid of) and I've been goofing off instead. I think I'm afraid to look at my mail pile now. Ha-ha! :-P~~
I believe these depressives feel things so utterly deeply they cannot express them in words, but instead internalize them.

There is such inexplicable beauty they see and feel all around them and it is so intensely moving, like an undercurrent that carries their spirits. At times, such beauty renders them speechless and motionless because it completely overwhelms them.

But it is like being in a glass box. And just outside the box, you see the wind gently blowing the petals of a breathtakingly fragile yet defiant flower, as well as the trees and grasses rustling as the uplifting breeze passes by. You see with fierce intensity just how lovely is the sun beaming on the shimmering surface of the water, showering the earth with its life-giving light and warmth.

But this wind, this light, this LIFE ~ you cannot be a part of it, or truly feel the wind in your hair, or the sun on your face ~ because you're in the glass box. You're trapped with no way out. You know the wind and the sun and warmth and beauty are all around you because you see them with such depth and appreciation, but you cannot feel them. You see ALL of it all the more intensely ~ *because* you cannot be a part of it.

This is the tragedy that leads to such desolation. You throw yourself against the unyielding box, devoid of warmth or light or companionship, with the desperate hope of breaking free so you can immerse yourself in this achingly beautiful world you see all around you. Yet you utterly despair... because your efforts are in vain.

Thinking of leaving Twitter. Not many people can find you or connect/relate unless you promote yourself (which I finally caved in and did and holy cow was I not ready for the influx ~ some of their direct auto-messages to new mutual followers were so corny, I died a little inside).

Turns out that "traffic" there isn't necessarily a good thing, as it's mostly just spam, self-promotion, auto-tweets, constant re-tweeting of each other's tweets, porn-bots, redundancies, marketing, social media celebrities, advice on how to Tweet, blah blah.

And every once in a while, someone writes an original thought or says something about their day or life or whatever ~ with NO ulterior motive! Imagine that.

I'd like to see a list of Twits (whatever) that Tweet strictly original, non-self-promotional content. But at the moment, I'm thinking of jumping the Twitter ship. (Or whale. Or bandwagon. Or gravy train. Or whatever.) Or else go back to having only a few followers and making sure they're strictly content-worthy, instead of being nice and "reciprocal" to every Tom, Dick, and Florida Real Estate Agency that wants to be mutuals.

I'm sooo freaking lazy.

I decided to actually use the Stumble button for a bit (a rarity for me anymore with so many things I find just surfing and reading on my own, and fascinating stuff already posted on other people's pages).

Some of my backed-up Stumbles sent from mutual friends are so old, some of the "friends" are no longer friends (stupid drama from well over a year ago, ha-ha), some of the pages are expired, some are various holiday greetings for 2008 (?!?), and ~ this is what really got me ~ some are from a really good friend who passed away quite unexpectedly a few months ago.

Seeing his page suggestions (and cute comments) as if he were still here with me among the living and Stumbling makes me both happy that I had a chance to know him, and sad that I can never send him a "Thank you" for any of these pages he thought enough of me to send.

Still miss you, ChesapeakeMan.

I'd like to mention something I've noticed a good bit, to help clear up inappropriate thumbing.

Thumbing up means you want to continue receiving pages of that particular interest or site.

Thumbing down means you do not want to see any further pages of that nature.

You are not thumbing up the actual content of the page unless you think the article is poorly written (thus, you do not wish to see more pages from this particular site), or it does not contain information in which you are interested. You are thumbing the article (and its subject matter/topic) itself; the information it delivers vs thumbing the actual viewpoint.

Whether or not you agree with the author's viewpoint on a matter is not what you are thumbing at all. Thumbs are used to help SU direct the kind of sites to you that you are interested in.

I disapprove of many of the actions or viewpoints I see presented in articles, but I usually want to continue reading that type of content (if it's listed in one of my areas of interest). So I thumb up the article (say, on an instance of privacy-rights violations) because it's informative and relative to my interests, then I make my opinions of the article's subject matter ("Screw that Big Brother crap!", etc.) known in my review.

Essentially, I'm thumbing up the article because it brought something to my attention that I found worthwhile and I want to continue to see more of the same. I may disapprove of the news or information itself, but again, that's what the review section is for.

Otherwise, thumbing down a site simply tells StumbleTron that you don't wish to see content of that sort anymore, period. This might negatively impact the quality of your future stumbles.

Sorry if this post seems repetitive, but it seems that many people simply are not grasping this concept very well, and I just wanted to clear that up.

Okay, I'm testing the waters of the new BETA format. However, they don't have themes yet, so there is simply white as a background. This is a bit of a problem because most of my older posts are now nearly illegible when viewed against BETA's white background. Not cool when you've got over 1000 blog entries.

Other issues of contention so far:

A) When will we get the option to set the BETA version as our default view for ALL visitors, not just those who also choose to use BETA? I'd like to see all users' pages in the format they choose to use; likewise, I want all visitors to see my own blog in the format I choose. Otherwise, a lot of content is going to look weird, ugly and illegible when visiting other users' pages if they (like me) use custom formatting.

B) Why does the BETA version direct visitors (and blog owners themselves) to the "All" page instead of making the "Reviews" (blog) page the default view (or at least offer the option to set their default view)?

C) BETA does not acknowledge the HTML tags that allow proper padding and formatting of left- and right-aligned images, so all my images formatted in this manner are squashed against the text in the BETA version. This chafes when you're a perfectionist!

D) Visitor counts are different between the versions, with the BETA version showing decidedly fewer of the visitors the regular version displays. Why the discrepancy?

E) Why do we have to refresh the page after editing and saving a post in the BETA version in order to see the changes?

F) BETA does not support the "Archives" function, as far as I can tell.

G) The "Sticky" function doesn't work properly in BETA if you switch back and forth between formats. :-(

H) I had another point to make, but I forgot it. I'll probably remember it at 3am in the morning, in the midst of a sound sleep, and be unable to sleep again until I've posted it. I sometimes seriously dislike having A.D.D.

More observations to be added as I piddle and fiddle around. If anyone has any answers as to how to correct something that I'm missing or griping about, please message me.
I took this crappy cellphone photo of a topless, abandoned toilet right behind our neighborhood Firestone Tire Station.

Bonus! For well over a year a couple of the lights on the large storefront sign were burned out, thereby announcing it as "Firestone ~ America's Ho For Tire Service." (During the day it reads "Home".)

Yep. It's good to be back. ;-)
