Here is the China far removed from the glittering facade presented at the Olympic games.
Look at the plight of the common Chinese folk as their affluent become billionaires.
Look at the environmental damage to the precious fresh water supplies and air quality of the World.
This pollution knows no boundaries my friends.
Cheap Chinese products look very expensive when we weigh up all these costs!
With the Chinese economy becoming so strong is this poor quality of life about to be thrust upon us?

This is the reality of deforestation - mankind destroys it and in the process takes another step closer to the wrecking of the Earth's fragile ecosystem upon which we all ultimately depend.

As most of us just simply sit and ignore all the oft-repeated warnings take a peek at how others are affected particularly among the desperately poor in Third World countries.
We might like our outdoor furniture sourced from increasingly scarce tropical timbers but look at the cost to the families who must scratch a living in these countries after the damage has been done and their forests are no more.

It is shameful that the developed countries are still sending dangerous wastes to developing countries.
Many highly toxic materials have been sent to be dumped in isolated rainforests or some waterway way out-of-sight.
It is time for a "get tough" policy if we are to address the woes of not only environment but also of social justice.

In fact, many countries still use rivers to discharge their wastes and exacerbate the problem.
In Canada they are using vast amounts of water for every gallon of oil extracted from the disastrous Tar Sands projects.
Our leaders are threatening our future comprehensively.
