IBM puts Oracle to the sword with EnterpriseDB | The Open Road - CNET News

IBM announced Wednesday that it nabbed 100 of Sun's and Hewlett-Packard's customers last quarter alone for its high-end servers and mainframes, with half the deals worth over $1 million each, as reported by The Wall Street Journal.

The bigger news, however, may be IBM's partnership with EnterpriseDB, the commercial backer of the open-source PostgreSQL database, to embed EnterpriseDB's Postgres Plus Advanced Server technology into IBM's DB2 9.7 database product. EnterpriseDB's technology basically allows applications written for the Oracle database to run on EnterpriseDB's PostgreSQL...and now IBM's DB2.

Great post! From the page: "There are as many ways to be a jerk as there are jerks in the world, but there are just enough ways to be an SEO jerk to fill a blog post. In case you needed a clarification on behaviors that make others in the SEO industry think you're a toolbag, here are examples (inspired by real-life recent events) of why your peers might get pissed at you."

It takes more than just a MySpace profile to create a solid online presence. You must have a well built, creatively constructed website at "yourbandname.com". In today's online economy, everything that has any prospect of selling must be placed on a website with the product name as the domain name and that includes your music.
