If you are a female ask yourself this question- do you think more about how you feel, or how you look? as much of a feminist I considered myself to be ,I was shocked by my own answer . this does help to put things in perspective. How realistic is our sense of "beauty?

If Barbie were a real woman, she'd have to walk on all fours due to her proportions.

The average American woman weighs 144 lbs. and wears between a size 12 and 14.

If shop mannequins were real women, THEY'D BE TOO THIN TO MENSTRUATE.

One out of every 4 college aged women has an eating disorder.
The models in the magazines are airbrushed - THEY'RE NOT PERFECT!!
A psychological study in 1995 found that 3 minutes spent looking at models in a fashion magazine caused70% of women to feel depressed, guilty and shameful.

this is how the entire article begins- the rest is a great read. From the page: "Lunacy is ruling the world. Eternal wars, environmental damage, neglect of the common people, are all proof of the total lack of common sense. The ever-increasing movement towards inequality and the gradual strangling of democracy are signs that people matter no more. Culture has been replaced by the accumulation of material goods. Information has turned into mass propaganda. The truth is of no significance. Greed has won out over humane instincts of solidarity. Individualism (read: selfishness) is the creed of this age and sharing and caring have gone out the door. "

Charles Manson follower Susan Atkins dies - USATODAY.com

Susan Atkins, a follower of cult leader Charles Manson and the Killer of Sharon Tate, is dead. The 1969 killing rampage of the members of the Charles Manson family cult is just as shocking today as it was 40 years ago. Perhaps the Tate family can close at least one chapter in it's long struggle to find justice. I do support life in prison for the family, but I also feel Many of The followers who fell into Manson's wicked world of hate, drugs and brainwashing were young and misguided. When a one time follower of Charles Manson dies after a lifetime in jail, I count them as yet another one of his victims.
