Life has been filled with many blessings lately. A few days ago I travelled to Paris and spent time with a childhood friend and it was magical. We revelled in art, haute cuisine, reminicing about long ago - and we laughed until we collapsed.

A tentative spring has sprung and I can feel a creative new energy stirring - everything slowly awakening from a long winter slumber.

My Stumbling is still rather sporadic and I fully expect it to remain this way, but I still pass by and thanks to all of you who write and send me interesting pages. I'll reciprocate whenever I have a moment.

Before I forget...this page as well as the next one is�finally completed (sort of). I'm about done�finding a few poems/musings to add to the artwork but those of you who know me well are aware that I am a master of procrastination - but I will get round to it sometime.

I've almost forgotten how much I used to enjoy Stumbling, and tempted to make more time for it again, although I don't know how I'll manage that.� Thanks to all of you who makes it so great!

One aspect of blogging which I loved initially, was the impression I got that it was a kind of activity where you could get fairly creative without really getting messy.� No supplies to unpack, organise, clean, pack away...

Now I know that if you leave your blog alone long enough, there'll be plenty of housekeeping awaiting you when you finally return.� Broken links, images no longer available and such.� The solution?� Embrace the mess.� Life is messy.� Yay!� I am however�trying to fix some of the links and pics though, but not in the least feeling a compulsion to get it just right.

Some great things that happened this past year:

-Two dear friends have had adorable baby girls recently.

-I successfully organised a few events for large groups of people.

-My health has improved a great deal without the need for invasive surgery, but it has taken a lot of discipline and lifestyle changes and has been thoroughly worth it.

-I have learnt the importance of gratitude. No matter what is going wrong - deal with it, but don't forget gratitude. It has helped me pull through a lot of difficult situations I have had to face.

-I'm learning how to ride a motorbike.

-Our youngest daughter was accepted into a school where she will specialise in music over the next three years. She is talented and has big dreams and has fallen in love for the first time and we hear of nothing else these days.

-The love of my life is finally taking dancing classes after all this time we've been together.

-I had no idea how much I was loved by family and friends who supported me totally during all the challenges I had to overcome. Admitting that I was going through too much to bear, brought showers of love, support and understanding which I would never have experienced had I persisted in my "going at it alone" routine I have perfected over the years.

-My internet addiction is something of the past and real life is just SO much better. I Don't know how I could have forgotten how great it was.

-Facebook has brought me into touch with family, friends and acquaintances I had lost hope of tracking down and next year I'm taking a long trip home for a reunion. Stumble Upon has put me into touch with amazingly creative and gifted people who have inspired me to be a better person.

-I have been offered a position commencing January, and I'm very touched and honoured to have been chosen.�

May 2008 be a year for all of you, where you go after at least one of your dreams, overcome one of your fears. May you have a soft landing into the brand new year and hopefully 2008 will bring you closer to your true North, and may you have enough love and support to guide you through the tough days, the hard times which will undoubtedly visit each of us; hopefully only enough to fully appreciate the many wonderful moments and blessings awaiting us all.

From my journal of December 2005: Our day at Ch�teau d'Yquem was exquisite. Driving along the winding country roads in the late autumn landscape, the fiery colours of the foliage contrasting with the various greys of the cloudy skies and some of the trees already bare, we are reminded of the promise of spring in the dying landscape.

Long before arriving, you can see you are heading somewhere notable. The imposing ch�teau and the vineyards surrounding it are remarkable indeed. When passing through the gates from the road there is a lengthy straight driveway and you can, with a bit of imagination, picture yourself in a horse drawn coach during the approach.

Visiting guests assemble in a large hall briefly where an astonishing 1:500 scale model of the entire property can be viewed. There are even minuscule workers in the vineyards! I wished I had more time to admire that stunning piece of work.

Firstly, we were led to the highest point on the property where we viewed all the vineyards, and the uniqueness regarding the soil and climate was explained in detail. The stately trees around the property were planted by those wounded during WWI when the ch�teau served as a hospital. We then proceeded to the cellars and an exhibition hall with photographs and an in-depth description of the wine-making method was given. Certain years when the quality is not up to standard, the wine is sold as generic Sauternes wine. During the Q&A I asked how the process was discovered and it is thought to be an accidental discovery.

2005 is thought to be an exceptional vintage, although time will tell. The climatic conditions of the past year in particular have been optimal. We'll be on the look-out for this vintage in the future when it becomes available.

At the conclusion we were led to a reception room where we delighted in tasting the precious liquid golden sunshine, I took some time to leaf through the visitor's book and left a message. What a privilege to be able to visit a place on this world where magic is made.
