When I started to use SU, I was also wondering what kind of things are expected as reviews and is it appropriate for a blog to be made mostly of quotes. It all depends on how you define review and comment. Often a quote gives the best summary of the page and I don't have much to add or don't have time to add something at the moment. Is this a review or a comment? I don't know. However, it clearly serves the same purpose as review, helping people to discover the content they could have overlooked otherwise. Short quotes made by others were often helping me to discover great content, they made me read long pages that I wouldn't read otherwise as their beginning was not promising enough. Quote can also serve the same purpose as a comment, because it emphasizes a particular point of view. You can learn a lot about people by looking at what they quote. Two people will rarely quote the exact same thing from the same page, each will select what is the most important from one's point of view.

One of the features that makes SU so successful is that quoting from a page is nearly effortless. This helps us to discover brilliant ideas that are sometimes buried in the middle of a long text or just hard to find.
