If any of you fancy checking out what I did in Canada, this is a good start.

A short 9 minute video montage of the photos I took of some of my lovely work friends. :) Enjoy!

So. My Google shortcut button is just above my Stumble! button.

The number of times I click on Stumble! and wonder which f***ing idiot gave Google a thumbs up is really annoying.

It's like proving that I'm that f***ing idiot every fifteen minutes.

Yay! I've been awarded an honorary "SU Hottie" award by http://rebekka92.stumbleupon.com! Far better than the SU award for Worst Dental Hygiene that the Dentistry group awarded me back in January.

Thanks Bekka! Honestly, this whole StumbleUpon thing has been so good for my CV. SU Hottie Award, Honorary Citizen of Twilo, the list goes on and on... That dream job must be just around the corner now, I can feel it. :)

I've had 3,000 visitors! Normally, at a milestone such as this, I understand it is customary to write a quick review of their site and thank them in some way for being the n thousandth visitor.

Well, I refuse. Because the 3,000th visitor (and I won't tell you who they were) was very, very dull.

I thought I'd be clever and check out the 2,999th and 3,001st visitors too. But no, they were very dull too.

This is a plea to all you interesting people out there: Please, please, please keep an eye on how many visitors I've had, and try and aim to stop by when I'm nearing the 4,000 mark. I don't want to have to write a message like this again.

You know that picture of the Zippo lighter with the flame coming out of the top? You know, the one where the flame is actually made out of water? Don't pretend you've never seen it, you have.

Anyway, for Christ's sake would you people please stop posting it to your blogs? It's rapidly becoming the StumbleUpon equivalent of Coldplay.

Thank you for allowing me this micro-rant.
Carry on.

Right. Time for a Social Experiment.

Alex Knibb's Grand Study On What Things People Like On StumbleUpon

I've noticed that only 153 people have put that they like themselves on their Things I Like lists. This struck me as particularly alarming as an indicator for the self-image and mental health state of my fellow Stumblers. So I decided to conduct a little experiment and find out what people actually like out there. Here's what I found:

153 people like Me. 177 like You. I knew it. You're far more popular than me. You bastard.

Four times as many people like rimming as like blow jobs. This is, well, a little surprising.

Twice as many people like sex (2,594) as opposed to love (1,180). Rather worryingly, reading is far more popular than both at a staggering 4,583. Yes, that's right. Nearly twice as many people on SU would rather settle down with a damn good book than a damn good shag. Weirdos.

I'm the only person who likes David Hasselhoff* and Orange Matchmakers. You're all weird, you know that?

Women are far more popular than men, leading by a score of 1,092 to 240.

Three times as many people prefer coffee (1,879) over tea (632). Hot Chocolate represents a niche market with a lowly 39 stumblers enjoying the decadent hot beverage. And apparently, I'm the only person who likes either Bovril or Horlicks.

Four people like pants. 13 people like thongs. Only I like Y fronts, and apparently, StumbleUpon doesn't believe I like boxer shorts, even though it's on my Things I Like list.

Six people like suicide, somewhat bizarrely. However, if you add to that list the number of people who like Coldplay and the film Solaris, then that figure is actually closer to 2,200.

We're not a shallow collection of misfits on here. In fact, 714 people like intelligence, but only 93 people like breasts. As an aside, only ten people like hedgehogs.

A very surprising result cropped up in the inevitable Battle Of The Elvises. In fact, 80% more people like Elvis Costello compared to those who like "The King", Mr Presley. I think we should petition the government to change Presley's name to "The Dauphin" or "The Viscount" and promote Mr Costello to the monarch position.

Anyway, I might add more interesting (or otherwise) stats as I think of them. If you make any discoveries of your own, let me know!

* EDIT: I've just discovered another person who likes David Hasselhoff. Http://born-again-5000.stumbleupon.com is also a fan. Born Again 5000 was saved (from what I have no idea) by a fella called "Jesus", who I can only surmise was a Hoff fan also, and probably not such a bad ol' stick after all.
