Endowments Down The Drain | Associate Degree - Facts and Information

I hate to say it but the same rich people who are fooled into investing in hedge funds and fancy schmancy investments are the ones who are in charge of where endowments are invested. They are suckered b/c the fin'l salespeople appeal to their ego with promises of "exclusivity" of such investments along with embellishments of the possible returns.

What they need is some people with a good education in the school of hard knocks.

A market with perfect information which is virtually what we have results in no one person having a real advantage in being able to predict the market. You simply have to have prudent allocation and use reason and current trends to produce a smart guestimate of the future and therefore how to invest.

Also, would you buy milk if there were 10 middlemen between you and the farmer? No, you wouldn't because it would be too expensive.

The same is true with fancy investments. There are too many layers and too many hands in the cookie jar. It's just that they are able to "hide" the extra cost with fast talk.

Wake up and buy some index mutual funds and some safe well researched bonds to hold until maturity.
