Thanks to Ange for Stumbling this one though, for some reason, I am being credited with the discovery. I am enjoying Broadcasting Brain quite a bit. Seems we share some common views on marketing and "creative engineering". This is certainly a good read and it makes you realize just how gimmicky film, TV, and books can be. Just look at Heroes and LOST - great shows but the holes and inconsistencies are certainly there!

The Free Hugs campaign is still going strong. Call me sappy, but I think this is a great initiative. So many of us have erected huge walls and pretenses when, really, all we need is a little warmth in our lives. A little hug can be quite inspiring and healing.. Try it some time! =o]

Ange, you rock! =oD

I love nature and animals so I think it's time I get back on my photoblogging kick and shake some funky feelings off (it's been rough moving from NY to CA and now GA - long story). Thanks to Berrypicker for sharing this!

I also LOVE this gem Berrypicker had to share:

"Religion - It's given people hope in a world torn apart by religion." -- Jon Stewart

Historically, religion has been at the heart of the biggest wars and massacres.. It still is. Faith and true goodness unite people but religion, as we know it, only seems to isolate and separate. Pig-headed people argue about whose religion is better, as if it is some sort of sporting event. Religion then becomes a mere showboating experience with no real substance behind it. Sinners and liars unite to offset their guilt with supposed acts of kindness which are truly selfish acts wrapped in shiny paper.

The irony of (most) religion is so great because people go to church to show that they stand for something yet, really, the principles and words they preach are empty.. They lack action. I wonder what some people learn when they go to church and read scripture. Where's the compassion, kindness, sincerity, and selflessness?

Sadly, people have yet to discern the difference between having faith, believing in God, being spiritual, living a principle-driven/faithful life, and being religious. They don't all go hand-in-hand though they probably should!

Lately, I've met so many chest beaters that I've written some pretty angry poems on the hypocrisy of it all.. But fortunately I have cute photos like this squirrel to keep me from wallowing in the angst TOO much! ;o)

One more thing about religion before I eventually revisit the topic: we all need something to believe in but, just because you strongly believe in something, don't think for a second it makes it a fact or allows you to force your beliefs upon another. To truly bring people into the fold, one must lead by example and inspire, rather than judge and play foolish head games, which seems to be what I've seen in just about every church I've been too... It makes the baby Jesus cry! =oP

This site is definitely one of the better retro-gaming sites out there. I still prefer downloading the ROMs+emulators and using a programmable USB gamepad but this is great for a quick fix. Very good selection. They have some really obscure games here too.. Sadly, I remember 99% of these. Wow, I'm such a nerd... =oP

Oh man, some girls I know really need to see this. Nothing sadder than someone that's always bored when there's always something to do. Being bored or lazy is not a luxury I've ever really had, thankfully.. Though we all have our moments. This song rocks and I love Gnarles Barkley and anything produced by the elusive Danger Mouse (Gorillaz, anyone?) - w00tash! Thx 4 da stumble, Jayman!!

This title looks very promising. I wonder if they'll go with a subscriber model or work out some other revenue model... I've given this game props on GameSpot, WordPress, SU, and all over the place. It's good to see indie developers like myself find great success! =oD
Babo, an RND Labs franchise, reaches the next level.. Check out my GameSpot blog for the latest, as information becomes available (yes, I am the Yogizilla quoted in their official trailer too)! 8)

Yes.. It's a shameless plug but you lovely guys and gals don't seem to mind! I'd like to know who would like to read more about self marketing, particularly regarding career building, personal development, and such. Trying to figure out what to focus on more. All my stuff is loosely connected but I want to write about what appeals to y'all the most. Let's have some feedback! =oD

After years of debating whether or not it'd be prudent to join this community over the myriad of related web sites, I decided to go ahead and jump on this bandwagon, mainly because my friends and long-time clanmates, my fellow Nips, are on here too. Gamespot, like many other communities, is not without it's drama and politics but it's one of the most complete communities out there. As I cultivate my own communities and web sites, mingling with the Gamespotters is proving to not only be good networking but also a reminder of why my true calling has always been in video games, writing, and being a professional geek - w00tash!!

(Yes, I have a blog here too.. It's more focused on video games, geek sub-culture, oddities, and artsy-fartsy stuff, naturally.. Check out my bits on the current "next-gen" console wars - it's sure to ruffle some feathers!)

Time for some SCANDALOUS news! Microsoft's Passport system gets hacked once again but, this time, it gets really ugly. XBox LIVE continues to have MAJOR problems for several weeks now. 360 console owners will get a free XBox LIVE Arcade game. The overseas outsourcing of XBox support has resulted in all sorts of fun stuff, not limited to the customer service reps laughing and hanging up on callers. Read this article for the details of all this and more! Microsoft is certainly coming under fire once again. WOOHOO!
