I've had to stop thumbs-upping this one. It's so old, and it's been attributed to so many different support centers that I just can't trust ANY of its validity. Hell, I had a support technician tell me the story over the phone one time as something that happened to HIM.

Anyone with a moderate ability to comprehend physics combined with rudimentary eyeballing skills can see this is fake. I'm not even going to agree that it's an impressive fake, because the physics are just janky enough to give it away. If I had had to check Snopes to be sure, I'd say it was well-done. But since I was able to deduce it for myself, not so much.

Headline writers suck. Minor error, but clearly women are majority on all social networks except FOUR based on this chart. Proper headline would be that men are only the majority on one social network.

Over-simplification of the issue. While it IS drastically overhyped, it's just as foolish to believe it's nothing. It's a genuine issue, and one that has the potential to become much, much worse. At the moment, however, it's not.

Also, gnixon, vitamin C doesn't do anything. Outdated myth based on shoddy research.

It's all about confidence. Kevin Mitnick said (paraphrasing) that the best way to get someone's password is to ask his secretary for it in an authoritative manner. Considering as an IT guy how often I've gotten people who've never met me before to give me their passwords, this is very true. Act like you know EXACTLY what you're doing, and people believe you. It's not always easy to pull off, but if you've got the balls and the skills, you're set.
