OFFSIDE RULE EXPLAINED FOR GIRLS (found on another forum I frequent):

You're in a shoe shop, second in the queue for the till. Behind the shop assistant on the till is a pair of shoes which you have seen and which you must have.

The female shopper in front of you has seen them also and is eyeing them with desire.

Both of you have forgotten your purses.

It would be totally rude to push in front of the first woman if you had no money to pay for the shoes.

The shop assistant remains at the till waiting.

Your friend is trying on another pair of shoes at the back of the shop and sees your dilemma. She prepares to throw her purse to you.

If she does so, you can catch the purse, then walk round the other shopper and buy the shoes.

At a pinch she could throw the purse ahead of the other shopper and, whilst it is in flight you could nip around the other shopper, catch the purse and buy the shoes, always remembering that until the purse had actually been thrown it would be just plain wrong to push in front of the other shopper.

Skiing bloody brilliant. Joe had a spectacular crash on Christmas day. Lots of sun, snow and champers. Got altitude sickness a bit. Was told to snap out of it until Joe got it himself the following day. Great fun though, brilliant way to spend Christmas.

Been really bah-humbug this year. Joe and I decided in October that we would go away for Christmas as we simply can't be bothered with it all. However, we left it until last Saturday before going to a travel agent, hoping for a last minute bargain. Had no idea where we wanted to go -were thinking a european city break for a few days, or a week somewhere hot like the Canaries. But then we thought, it's not guaranteed to be hot in the Canaries, and my luck with weather would have undoubtedly ensured a cold rainy week - and what do you do then? So, we're now embracing winter, and we've booked a week skiing in France. So having decided to ignore Christmas, we're now going to wake up Chritmas day in the Alps surrounded by snow-covered pines, Christmassy lanterns and the option to go on a huskie ride....sigh, well at least we don't have to cook.

Can't bloody wait!

Big Brother rant:

Orlaith is supposedly really happy about being up for eviction tomorrow because she really wants to leave. She thanked her housemates for nominating her and is really excited about going if she's evicted, cos she hates it in the house and has been really unhappy these last few days. For fuck's sake woman, if you hate it that much - walk out! It's not prison. Bollocks she's happy about being up. Stupid cow.
