The White House holds a Classical Music Day, as students took part in workshops and performed two concerts.

Now THIS is something Obama has done that this Conservative can support.

I played the Violin from age 10 to age 18, in school orchestras, and developed my love of Classical Music from the experience, never developing a taste for what passed for popular musical forms among my peers of the 70's, and 80's. ;-D

"Classical music took over the White House on Wednesday as Barack and Michelle Obama used two concerts and a series of workshops for young musicians to send a clear message that the music of the masters isn't just for stuffed shirts.

The president told the audience at an evening concert in the East Room that classical music is "lifting hearts and spurring imaginations" all across the nation, and is something to be enjoyed by aficionados and the uninitiated alike.

In Dudley... doing right means less Pussy: Is this wrong?

As a Cat Person who has an Uncle & Aunt who raised 10-15 Cats (All Strictly Indoor), and 4 Dogs, in their home for over 20 yrs. with no problem I say if the owner allows the Cats outdoors then there's a problem, even if they ARE fixed, and their shots up to date.

When you consider all the people in your neighborhood with Cats, fixed, or not, they let roam then you can understand the concern.

Cats should be Indoors, or allowed outside, in limited exposure, in enclosures they can't escape in ones backyard (Hell you can even buy enclosures to attach to a window that allows Kitty the experience of being outdoors with the safety of still being in the house!)

Cat Owners need to think, and act, responsibly.

The author says, among other things:

"Great bloggers become great because they have a unique style and way of thinking. Here�s the kicker, though: They were that way before they ever became bloggers...

If you want to become a better blogger, you need to have a style and a voice of your own �" and you can�t find that sitting at your computer desk.

Not enough of a voice, anyway, to make you really great...

You�re not going to develop your blogging awesomeness by re-posting what other people have written or riffing off thoughts they�ve had, or setting up endless list posts pointing to someone else�s content...

Those things are fine once in awhile, but they�re not enough to build a great blog...

To become better bloggers, we need to get out in the world."

I've been doing this since I became a blogger in 2002.

You can find things online to write about, that other bloggers have not, but coming up with your own stories, investigative series, poems, whatever, is so much more satisfying, even if does not lead to a temporary, or permanent traffic spike.

Blog for yourself, and interested readers will find you, and let you know what they think.
