Children ask such surreal questions...

The other week my six year old niece asked me the most surreal question I have ever encountered...

"What Happens to Disney Characters When Not On Film"....

The problem is, how do you answer... "I am sorry princess, they do not really exist... Any thoughts you may have had about flying carpets, talking mermaids and happily ever after are in fact pipe dreams! Life sucks, get over it!!!!"... Oh, I was so tempted!.....

Well, before I knew what I was doing, my tongue went into some form of abstract overdrive spasm... I was playing into the whims of a six year old girl's imagination! Did having my daughters reduce me to this stupid, soppy, drivelling mess? Two years ago I would have told her the truth... Sheesh what is happening to me!

Well, just by accident I came across this one. It seemed to justify everything I told her.... Perhaps there is some truth to the surreal fantasy land all little girls tend to inhabit....

Dear Mr Squirrel

What is going on?? Or should I say what is NOT going on...

If I see another "Oh I am soooooooo fluffy and cute look at my photo" squirrel the next time I hit the stumble button I fear I will vomit.

OK OK, so everyone likes squirrels; even the most sadistic of us would venture into squirrel pie... so yes, they would say they like squirrels too! But for goodness sake...

Carnation milk - 65 YEARS AGO .. This is choice!

A little old lady from Wisconsin had worked in and a round her
family dairy farms since she was old enough to walk, with hours of
hard work and little compensation.

When canned Carnation Milk became available in corner shops in
approximately the 1940s, she read an advertisement offering �5,000
for the best slogan. The producers wanted a rhyme beginning with
'Carnation Milk is best of all.'

She thought to herself, I know all about milk and dairy
farms. I can do this!

She sent in her entry, and several weeks later, a black limo pulled up
in front of her house. ? A man got out and said, 'Carnation LOVED
your entry so much, we are here to award you �2,000 even though we
will not be able to use it!'
